The plasma column diagnosis of an electric discharge used to ignite dust explosion, has been performed by optical emission spectroscopy methods using the well-known Boltzmann plot method based on W I spectral lines, to determine the electron temperatures. In the peripherical zone of the discharge, molecular spectroscopy methods are applied, by comparing the experimental spectrum with a simulated one.

The first results indicate that the plasma is close to the local thermodynamic equilibrium at a temperature close to 11000 K.
